Celebrate The Holidays With MAC!

The holidays are right around the corner, literally! I mean, Thanksgiving is just a week away! Woo hoo! And what better way to celebrate than with makeup, right? I for one, love MAC's holiday collections each year. The fun colorful compacts that the collections come in are great!

Here are MAC's 2008 holiday collections...

Red She Said
This year it's all about RED! With the comback of red lipstick, why not?

The retro-starlet allure of Hollywood glamour, with a modern twist. A season where lips connive, then confess in shades of provocative holiday reds. Party season and passions flare! "Red" She Said, and no one could resist her...

Mineralize Eye Shadow Trio ($17.50)
Three shades of Mineralize Eye Shadow all in one. Each palette offers a complete eye look in the signature high colour, and dimensional pearl finish of this mineralized formula. Limited edition(By the way - I'm totally kicking myself in the booty for not picking one of these up. I couldn't decide on my last visit. better get back in there before they're no longer available!)

Lipsticks($14.00)
Comes in 4 different shades: "Red" She Said, Crazeee, Pomposity, Soft Pause, and Quiet, Please.

Dazzleglass($17.50)
Lipcolour that dazzles with light and shine to bring an exciting dimensional pop to your lips. Large particle pearls reflect and refract light to mimic the brilliance of quartz and opal crystal. Provides exceptional shine with a crystalline iridescence. Non-sticky, non-tacky, lightweight and moisturizing. Glides on. Wear alone, or layer over lipstick or Lipglass for dramatic effect.
In other words, like Lipglass but better! Colors - Date Night, Baby Sparks, Miss Dynamite, Love Alert and Sugarrimmed
Blush($18.00)
Two new shimmery shades; Stark Naked and Enough Said.

Passions of Red

Bewitchingly bejewelled. Glossy, glamorous, insistently erotic lip and eye compacts to covet in five shades of passion. Features new and bring-back shades for red-hot exclusivity. The quintessential Holiday colour revamped. Passion like this simply can't be contained!

4 Different eyeshadow compacts with 6 colors in each! For warm eyes choose Intriguing Scarlett, for a cooler eye choose Infatuating Rose, for a classic eye try Devoted Poppy, and for a classic smokey eye pick up Facinating Ruby. All great compact and I want them all. Kthxbai.

They also have three lip compacts that come with three different shades. First one, Devoted Poppy are peach/orange-ish colors for a coral lip. Very nice! The second one is Facinating Ruby which comes in plum colors. And last but not least, we have Intruiging Scarlett that comes in cool pink tones. Very lovely.

..... MAC's Holiday collection... to be continued....

Halloween at MAC!

Awe-some!

Makeup Tips, by Glamberous Makeup

1.) Prime Your Eyes
Using eye primer will not only extend the life of your eyeshadow, but will make the colors pop much more. Apply a thin layer of the paint before applying your eyeshadows and liners and your eye makeup will last all day. MAC has a veriety of products to use as a primer. Paint, Paint Pots Cream Colour Base, or even shade sticks! You can use differenent colored paints/sticks for different looks(like a darker color underneath a smokey eye), but a good neutral color is always good to have on hand.

2.)Eyebrows Are Important!

It’s very important to have nicely shaped eyebrows. I suggest a wax. It’s a good start to get a nice shape, and then you can maintain plucking from there if you wish. If you have long eyebrows like me, go ahead and get a brow brush (or a disposable mascara wand), brush them upwards, and cut them either with a pair of shears or small mustache shears. Just doing that will make a huge difference. Then fill them in with either a matching color liner or shadow. It’ll really open up your face!

3.)Get yourself a foundation brush, you won’t regret it.
Get rid of that spounge! A foundation brush will work so much better and makes the foundation go on a lot more evenly. If you think about it, when you use a sponge, most the foundation is being soaked up into the spounge instead of going on your face. Use downward strokes while applying with a brush so you don’t see the facial hair and fuzz that grows vertically on your face. MAC's 190 Foundation brush is of course great($32), but if you don't want to spend that much, Target's Sonia Kashuk line of brushes are pretty decent and at a great price($9.99)!

4.) How You Hold Your Brush Makes a Big Difference
Where you hold a brush on the handle affects your control. The closer your fingers are to the barrel (the silver section beneath the brush head), the more pressure you put on the brush head. To apply color evenly, place your fingers in the center of the brush handle. When applying blush and bronzer hold more towards the end of the brush.

New From MAC: Suite Array

MAC has a new collection out called Suite Array. Suite Array combines eight new eyeshadow duos in fresh and frivolous colors, and paired with their new Pearlglide Eye Liners you will have a new look for day and night!

Eye Shadow Duos ($16):
A compact of two Eye Shadows colour-selected to accent, contrast, and in all ways complement each other. Both shades are matte with an overlay of pearl and provide sheer to medium buildable coverage with a beautiful luminescent effect. Long-wearing. Compact features two sizes of pans: the large pan provides the key shade; the small pan, an accent or highlight.

Pearlglide Eye Liner($14.50):
A creamy kohl-like eye liner with a sparkly, reflective finish. Highly pigmented: stands out for its rich, luxurious colours and pearl-metal look. Provides eye-catching, highly stylized contrast for any look. Smooth. Glides on. Feels comfortable. Long-wearing. Available in eight trend colours.

Wow.

I've been thinking recently that it's time to get a small cosmetic pouch to carry my lipstick/gloss/liners in. I've been losing a lot of them(mainly liners). They've been falling out of my purse, never to be found again. :(

A few days ago I went on a search for a bag. I knew I had a few that I don't use, but couldn't find any. I remember that I got rid of those in the move. Doh! I did find a larger clear cosmetic bag. I have several of them, so I grabbed one of those today.

I went through my purse and gathered all of my cosmetics, and this is what I found(sorry for the crappy camera phone picture):

Good thing I grabbed the larger bag. I found a ton of lipstick/glosses, a couple liners, drugstore blush, foundation, eyeliner, and a blush and eyeliner brush. Wow.
What's in your purse?

Awesome Website Alert!

Seriously, go to beautycrunch.com. Do it! Now! They sell Stila, DuWop, Too Faced, and Lola cosmetics at very discounted prices.

Here is just one example of some of the awesome stuff they have. A Stila 4 color eye palette. For $12.80!! That is a smoking deal!

I can't wait to do some shopping!

Product Review: Loreal HIP Jelly Balm

Today I stopped by Walgreens and browsed the makeup section (like always) and saw these Loreal HIP Jelly Balm lipglosses. I decided to pick one up to try. I need to expand my lip product anyway, right? So I grabbed one and went to the counter. The cashier told me that the HIP products were buy one, get one free. That was great, because I couldn't decide which color I wanted to try, now I get to try two!

I really like them! Definitely something to keep on hand. The colors are nice. Just a slight tint. They're moisturizing, not sticky, smell good and come in cute little jars! I suggest you pick some up. Go to Walgreens while they're still buy one, get one free. I got Plush and Delectable.
